The ACU program provides an efficient and effective process for self-assessment,
self-improvement and self-promotion to all who excel or wish to excel
as Avid system editors. Whether you are a seasoned post-production
veteran or you just began working with Avid FreeDV, if you take full
advantage of UI features and software functions then these significant
skills should be recognized and rewarded. This program will ensure
that you possess a high level of operational proficiency and that
your well-deserved certification is communicated to those who need
to know.
An Avid Certified User has the option to progress through two
levels of certification:
Avid Certified Operator
This initial ACU level thoroughly covers and then expands upon
the core operational functions of either the Media Composer or
Avid Xpress Pro software. Simply pass the Avid Certified Operator
exam for your preferred product line and receive official Avid
certification.
Avid Certified Specialist
This more advanced ACU level brings an established Avid Certified
Operator into the realm of a finely skilled Specialist. A participant
must demonstrate a thorough understanding of graphic/matte creation
and import as well as advanced visual effects construction.

All you have to do is pass the Avid Certified Operator exam and
prove your proficiency with either the Media Composer or Avid
Xpress Pro software. Please contact your local FMC branch in order to schedule your
exam. If you are a student and you wish to take the exam immediately
after your class, you will need to make arrangements with the branch
manager. Otherwise we can accommodate you at another time that
is convenient to you. What is the Cost ?
